If you're using a different program, we would be delighted to help you transfer your data into TheraQuick. At the moment, there is no automated way to do so, but if your program can export to a spreadsheet or any non-proprietary format, our programmers would most likely be able to transfer your data into TheraQuick. Please contact our Customer Service team at support@theraquick.com for information on using these custom programming services. Once we know what type of data you need to import into TheraQuick, we will provide you with a price quote for the project. Please be aware that it's possible that not all data from your current program will map exactly into TheraQuick and your current program may contain data that TheraQuick does not currently support, and vice versa, since the capabilities of the two programs may differ slightly.

Congratulations on your decision to get a Mac! Yes, you can transfer your TheraQuick file from the PC to your new Mac. The TheraQuick file itself will run on either platform, however you will need to obtain the Mac version for FileMaker Pro and the TheraQuick custom plugins that were installed when you first installed TheraQuick. Contact our Customer Service team at support@theraquick.com and we will provide you with the Mac versions of the plugins so that you have access to all the special custom capabilities of TheraQuick. If you purchased a Complete edition of TheraQuick (that included FileMaker Pro), we will also provide you with the Mac version of FileMaker Pro. Otherwise, you will have to purchase a Mac version from us. Once you have obtained and installed FileMaker Pro and the custom plugins on your Mac, you can simply copy your original TheraQuick file to your Mac and you're ready to go!
TheraQuick can utilize the new FileMaker Go app on the iPad. While it supports most of TheraQuick's capabilities, some modifications to TheraQuick were necessary to ensure compatibility. FileMaker Go does not support certain functions that interact with the operating system (since the mobile iOS is very different than the Mac OS or Windows) and capabilities that rely on external plugins such as credit card charging and electronic claims are not supported in FileMaker Go. Also, keep in mind that TheraQuick is a "heavyweight" database, and performance in FileMaker Go on a mobile device will not be the same as on a regular computer. TheraQuick is not yet supported on an iPhone.
Yes! The new TheraQuick 2.0 contains sophisticated calendar and scheduling features with full integration to client sessions and accounts.
TheraQuick submits electronic claims via secure FTP to the Availity or Office Ally clearing houses directly from within the program. You don’t have to manually log in to your Availity or Office Ally account, or manually upload your file! TheraQuick does it automatically when you submit your claims within TheraQuick (and once you’ve set up your FTP user account with Availity or Office Ally).
Also, TheraQuick retrieves the responses from Availity or Office Ally to determine if claims were accepted or rejected. You don’t have to manually check for responses or download response files from those clearing houses to determine if a claim was accepted or rejected. TheraQuick does this all for you! TheraQuick will indicate which claims were accepted or rejected directly within the program.
The current version of TheraQuick is designed to hold treatment progress notes that are part of the client's health record. The more extensive psychotherapy, or process notes must be kept in a physically separate file in order to satisfy HIPAA requirements and prevent them from being considered part of the client's record. You can accomplish this by entering process notes in a separate document, and then linking the external document to the client's treatment records within TheraQuick.
Yes, there is a way you can use TheraQuick to have multiple separate "identities" for insurance billing purposes. The Team (multi-user) edition of TheraQuick easily offers this capability — you don't even have to log in as separate users! If you are in an individual practice and you need to operate with separate identities, please contact our Customer Support team at support@theraquick.com for further information about how TheraQuick can do this for you.
If you are using TheraQuick with peer-to-peer sharing, it can support several users at one time, but performance will degrade sharply after about 3 to 5 users. We highly recommend using FileMaker Server on a computer that will host TheraQuick if you require support for more than 3 users. (Even with just 3 users, performance and speed of response is much better with FileMaker Server.)
FileMaker Server can support up to 250 simultaneous users. If you need more than that, FileMaker Server Advanced can support up to 999 users!
Peer-to-peer sharing means you've opened TheraQuick within FileMaker Pro on one computer, then you run FileMaker Pro on a second computer and log into TheraQuick (using "Open Remote...") on the second computer. For peer-to-peer sharing to be available, the TheraQuick file must always be open on the first computer and all the computers must be on the same network. Since backups and copies should only be made when the file is closed, you must manually manage the opening and closing of the file on the first computer in order to ensure data integrity.
FileMaker Server offers many advantages for hosting TheraQuick in a multi-user setting:
FileMaker Server has a built-in assistant to guide you through the installation process. It can be installed and configured by most users without the need for an IT expert and usually takes 20 minutes or less. (We have IT experts available to help if needed.) No special hardware is required. Additional built-in assistants guide you through setting up backup schedules and other activities. For a description of the system requirements for FileMaker Server, please visit the FileMaker Server Technical Specifications page.
Our support specialists can help you recover your data if you are unable to log in to your TheraQuick file. This falls under the category of "Paid Phone Support" described on the Tech Support Services page. Please contact our Customer Service team at support@theraquick.com for further assistance.
If you are using TheraQuick Solo or you are using TheraQuick Team and logging into TheraQuick over the network, then you may get the message from FileMaker informing you that the file cannot be shared because Network Sharing is off. This is entirely normal. This preference is set to "off" by default within FileMaker, and you normally don't need to change it. Only the host computer using peer-to-peer sharing of TheraQuick needs to turn it on. You can suppress the warning by changing the setting to "On" under the menu item: "File > Sharing > FileMaker Network."
