How to use Copy and Paste functions to update scripts in the TheraQuick Reporter when new capabilites are added to TheraQuick that require updates to the TheraQuick Reporter.
From the Scripts menu, choose the Manage Scripts menu item.
Double-click on the script you want to use. In this example, we will use the PresentReport script. (You will be copying and pasting the contents of this script from the new TheraQuick Reporter file into the contents of the same script in your own TheraQuick Reporter file.)
Click anywhere inside the Edit Script window to activate editing. This prepares you to copy the entire script.
From the Edit menu, choose Select All to select (highlight) all of the script contents.
All of the contents of the script will be highlighted, indicating all the steps are selected.
From the Edit menu, choose Copy to copy the contents of the script to the clipboard. (You can now close this script window if you like.)
Locate the TheraQuick Reporter file you are using, and open it. You can temporarily give it a new name to distinguish it from the newer TheraQuick Reporter file, but you must then change the name back when finished updating your file. In this example, we have renamed our customized Reporter file to "MyTheraQuickReporter."
Repeat the process described above to use the Scripts/Manage Scripts menu item to open the Manage Scripts window, then double-click on the script you wish to update (it must be the same script whose contents you've just copied from the new file), click inside the window then choose Edit/Select All to select the contents of your original script.
Press the Delete key to delete the complete contents of your original script. Really! Just delete it all!!
Use the Edit/Paste menu item to paste the contents of the clipboard (which contains the new script) into your own script. The full contents of the new script will be placed into the script in your file.
The new script contents will appear in your script.
Use the Scripts/Save Script menu item to save the script with the new contents. The script will now contain the new steps and you can close the Edit Script window.
If a new script exists in the new TheraQuick Reporter and it doesn't exist yet in your own TheraQuick Reporter, you will need to create a new script in your file. From the Manage Scripts window, click on the New button at the bottom of the window and choose the Empty Script... item.
A blank new script is created with the initial title "New Script."
In the new script window, type the desired name into the Script Name box. The name must exactly match the one you wish to create or duplicate from the new TheraQuick Reporter file. Use the Scripts/Save Script menu item to save the blank new script with the new name.
Use the steps described at the beginning of this tutorial, copy and paste the contents of the same script from the new TheraQuick Reporter file into this blank new script in your own TheraQuick Reporter file. Save the script.
To indicate that you have updated your scripts to the new version, you can double-click on the script folder name that shows the version to edit it. Edit the Folder Name to match the version and date of the new TheraQuick Reporter file. (You can also copy and paste script folder contents from the new one into yours.)
The version shown in the script folder name will now reflect the updated version number.
You can also update the version information on the Instructions layout. In Layout mode (use the Edit Layout button in the upper left), edit the text, then use Exit Layout to save it.
Now the new version information will be displayed on your Instructions layout. (Note, if you have changed the name of you TheraQuick Reporter file, be sure to change it back to "TheraQuickReporter"
