Updating TheraQuick to a New Version

How to update your TheraQuick file to a new version.

After choosing to download a TheraQuick update (see previous tutorial), the compressed zip file containing the update will be placed on your desktop.

If you have been notified that a new version of TheraQuick is available, and you have downloaded it (see previous tutorial), the zip file will be downloaded to your desktop. Mac users: Double-click on it to open it. Windows users: right click on the file and select “Extract All” or double-click on the file and select “Extract All” from the upper left hand corner and follow the extraction wizard.

The zip file will decompress and the TheraQuick Update folder will be created.

After confirming that the TheraQuick Update folder has been extracted, you can delete the zip file, if desired.

Copy the TheraQuick Update folder to the same volume as your TheraQuick file. It does not have to be in the same directory, but it must share the same root volume (such as the startup volume).

In this example, the TheraQuick file is in a folder within the "My Client Records" folder. The TheraQuick Update folder can be copied (or moved) into the same folder as your TheraQuick file.

The Updater will start to copy your data into the new TheraQuick file and displays a progress window.

The Updater is actually copying the data from your existing TheraQuick file into the new TheraQuick file where the new features have been implemented.

Depending on the amount of data you have accumulated in your TheraQuick file, this may take a minute or two. If the process is ever interrupted, simply open the RunUpdater again and click "Run Update" and the Updater will resume where it left off with migrating your data. Your original TheraQuick file is never left in an unsafe state.

The Updater will indicate when all your data has been moved into the new TheraQuick file and will automatically open it for you.

The data migration is complete when the Updater displays this message. It will then automatically open your new TheraQuick file.

You can login to your new TheraQuick file normally.

All your user account information remains the same, so you can login as you always do.

When your updated TheraQuick file opens, it will show the new version and release data for confirmation.
